Bringing back the Music

Hello friends new and old,

This year has been… well, y’all already know. I started out my year all ready to budget and vacation and love and live. And it all came to a screeching halt somewhere around March. I’m willing to bet you’ve had the same feelings and conversations I’ve had… wow, it’s already ____? Still feels like March, and September 29? More like the 212th of March, amirite?

For real though, this year has sucked. Bigly. But after a recent hospitalization turned my world upside down yet again, I gained a new perspective on life, one that is much more positive and hopeful. With my newfound inspiration I immediately decided to return to the things I once loved: blogging, listening to & playing music, and reconnecting with friends and family. Among other things.

I am no longer the suburbanite ‘hipster’ I was when I started this blog 8(!) years ago, so the name has changed. What’s the significance of Burgundy Betch, you ask? Well, a few years ago my younger sister and I thought it would be fun to make our own lil band called Burgundy Betch. Simply because we both had purplish hair at the moment and we liked the slight rebellion of an almost-swear word. The band never came to fruition, but we still played our guitars and sang together and said “betch” all the time with smirks on our faces.

TL:DR? The new name is inspired by the wonderful memories I have of creating and playing music with people I love.

So! Get ready for the content you came for: the music! I’ll start with my running 2020 playlist, embedded below and available here. What are you listening to these days?
