Introducing Burgundy Betch: The Podcast

The passion project I've always wanted to start (a podcast) has come to fruition! It costs $1 to download but that's mainly to screen out the bots or whatever. If you listen and decide you'd like your dollar back, listen to it again! I'm v proud of this. If you still want your dollar back,… Continue reading Introducing Burgundy Betch: The Podcast

Bringing back the Music

Hello friends new and old, This year has been... well, y'all already know. I started out my year all ready to budget and vacation and love and live. And it all came to a screeching halt somewhere around March. I'm willing to bet you've had the same feelings and conversations I've had... wow, it's already… Continue reading Bringing back the Music

Year of Less: Week 6

I decided not to post last week since I had bronchitis and didn't do much of anything or spend any money. This week though, phew. I think I'm making up for a tame start to February! I think the -30 wind chills and midwinter SAD have put a spell on me. Ok, it's not actually… Continue reading Year of Less: Week 6

1 Month of Less

It's done! Month 1! Woot woot. Yesterday, I tallied up all of my expenses for the month and compared it to my budget, and definitely learned a few things... I spend a lot of money on food. New Fave: Glass Animals’ How to Be a Human Being

In the months leading up to their sophomore album, Glass Animals released a few tracks that rocked my summer. "Life Itself" and "Youth" (which happen to be the first two tracks on the album) tell stories with infectious rhythms and melodies. I couldn't get enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yd9p4n5hLEg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZdsmLgCVdU Needless to say, my calendar was marked for… Continue reading New Fave: Glass Animals’ How to Be a Human Being

Jain: My Musical Souvenir

I was lucky enough to find myself in Paris and Geneva recently, where I got to hear some of the latest in French music. One day while watching TV in my hotel room in Geneva, a short clip aired about a singer called Jain. The 23-year old was born in France but lived in Abu Dhabi,… Continue reading Jain: My Musical Souvenir

“Why Are You OK” Leaves One Feeling Less Than OK

Last Friday, Band of Horses released their fifth studio album, Why are You OK. I was hyped for this release, but my mood deflated as I listened through it. I loved the singles released in advance- "Casual Party" and "In a Drawer" definitely caught my attention in the weeks leading up to the release. However, I got… Continue reading “Why Are You OK” Leaves One Feeling Less Than OK
