Happy Friday everyone! I'm fortunate to not have any classes on Fridays, so I spent this afternoon listening to some albums I recently found on Bandcamp. My favorite so far is from a group called SNOWMINE, out of Brooklyn, New York. The album is called LAMINATE PET ANIMAL, and was actually released way back in… Continue reading Band of the Day: SNOWMINE
I recently came across a list of the top ten songs of 1913 (okay, it was on the back of my word-a-day calendar), which got me thinking about how music has changed. It's interesting to hear that people can sing for so long about their broken hearts... So give these century-old songs a listen, and… Continue reading Top 10 Songs: 1913 vs. 2013
This song's got a fun, laid back vibe. Good for a Friday. Pretty solid Four Tet remix.

Seriously, the rest of his album is better than that song. I feel especially bad for ole Gotye since his concert here got bumped from the Target Center… Continue reading Gotye Ditched at Bumbershoot
California Wives' album Art History, via Soundcloud. Pretty upbeat tunes, good for everyday listening.

He still greeted the audience "Hey Minneapolis, thanks for coming out." I wish so badly that I was there! Drums galore. Missy Higgins gave a sweet performance too. I saw her… Continue reading Gotye and Missy Higgins at Myth
I'll admit now that I'm a sucker for Passion Pit. Something about those insanely high pitched trills makes me happy, I guess. My one complaint is that a lot of their songs sound the same to me. Is it just me? Or do you guys get that too? Anyway, here's I'll Be Alright.
Fun song, kind of all over the place. There's dreamy synths and vocals, horns, dance beats, tons of stuff happening. Anyway, it made me dance, so it's gettin' posted.
